Tobago Heritage Festival

Embark on a pilgrimage to the twin-island of Tobago, to experience the up raw of drums, songs, music and pleasure your taste buds with an assortment of delightful authentic Caribbean cuisine at the Tobago Heritage Festival. The celebration is an annual event initiated by J.D Elder in 1987 to preserve and displays Tobago unique cultural heritage rooted in the village lifestyle of the 1800s and 1900s. 

This event unfolds from mid-July to Emancipation Day on 1st August and spans throughout the island. The festival commences with the gala opening that highlights cultural performance such a singing, traditional dances, folk dramas etcetera.  Other events on the calendar include Tobago Ole Time Wedding, Folk Tales and Superstitions, Goat Racing, Belmanna Riot, Salaka Feast and festival ends with a street parade on Emancipation Day.
