Bird Sanctuary, Caroni Swamp

Let's get on board, on a venture of a lifetime!!!!!!!!! Visit the wetland of the Caroni Swamp to explore the wildlife and nature which is home to over 20 endangered species and a mixture of ecological diversity on a traditional local boat. The area covers a wide range of habitats for flora and fauna that comprises of approximately 5,611 hectares of mangrove forest with numerous channels and saline lagoons in a maze-like pattern.

  

The Caroni Swamp is home to over 200 avian species including Trinidad and Tobago's national bird, the Scarlet Ibis in which the central section is designated as a wildlife sanctuary for it.

 

The Scarlet Ibis, one of its kind within the region, bring a warm, cheerful and refreshing uniqueness to your heart........Soooooo…... Do you think it is an awesome place to visit??????

  2. The Caroni Bird Sanctuary, They Say It's The 2nd Largest Mangrove Wetland In Trinidad, What's The 1st? Also, You Can't Forget The Numerous Amount of Crabs That Litter The Entire Swamp Which Is Responsible For The Red Hue of The Scarlet Ibis Upon Which Comprises of Their Main Source of Food. Very Well Written And I Love The Selection of Pictures. Well Done And Keep Up The Great Writing

  3. It really nice but I think industry has destroyed a lot of the reefs and aquatic underwater tourism in Trinidad.

    1. I understand your point of view.....Most tourist areas, there are some degree of depletion by human interaction and that is why each individual should be mindful of the environment and preserve its natural habitat.
